Curriculum and Instructional Material Development Unit

The Curriculum and Instructional Material Development Unit (CIMDU) plays a key role in shaping high-quality, inclusive, and future-ready educational experiences at the Institute of Engineering (IoE). CIMDU is dedicated to designing, developing, and continuously updating curriculum frameworks and instructional materials that meet national standards and respond to the evolving needs of learners, educators, and society.

Since the launch of the Bachelor in Civil Engineering programs in 1978, IoE has developed and periodically revised its curricula to align with changing academic and industry demands. The unit has overseen the development and revision of curricula for various programs, as shown in the figure below. The curricula of bachelor programs are currently under revision, and the latest updates are available through the link below.

In addition, IoE began offering master’s programs in 1996 to address the growing need for experts in urban and regional planning, structural design and implementation, water resources development, and environmental engineering. Since then, the institute has developed and implemented 36 master’s programs based on national and international industry demands. IoE continues to update and revise existing master’s curricula while developing new programs. The evolution of graduate studies at the institute is presented in the figure below.
